SodaStream - Super Bowl Party

Story

Leveraging the biggest tailgating and sporting events of the year, Havas Street sought to build brand awareness for SodaStream, and drive consumers to use the product, by executing a sweepstakes in which one lucky winner would win a Super Bowl XLVIII tailgate party. Prior to the big game, consumers nationwide were invited to enter a Facebook sweepstakes for a chance to win SodaStream machines and, as the grand prize, the ultimate tailgate party at their home.

Tactics

  • Increase brand awareness among target demographic
  • Educate consumers on the latest in brand technology and the benefits of drinking SodaStream
  • Further develop positive relationships with consumers and encourage them to make SodaStream their drink of choice

Results

  • Within a two-week period, 6,000 contestants nationwide entered the Facebook sweepstakes
  • Grand prize winner and her 20 guests kicked off Super Bowl XLVIII in style by watching the game in a SodaStream-branded luxury RV and lounge outfitted with a big screen
  • Party guests enjoyed a variety of SodaStream drinks and cocktails, while receiving personal product demonstrations from SodaStream bartenders, and participated in traditional tailgate festivities, such as lawn games like corn hole and a BBQ buffet
  • The party concluded with guests walking away with SodaStream-branded premiums—like blankets, tailgate chairs and footballs—as well as a new appreciation for the brand
